Supreme Ct rules in favor of prolife freedom of speech

News and events affecting the U S & the right to be born alive, posted to this blog of mine by me Gloria Poole, RN, artist of Missouri today 17 June 2014, from newsletters & emails sent to me:

1) The U S Supreme Court ruled in favor of prolife activists:

"In Ohio, it’s a crime to make a knowingly or recklessly false statement about a political candidate or ballot initiative. The Susan B. Anthony List (SBA), a national pro-life group, criticized Rep. Steve Driehaus for voting for Obamacare, and by implication, taxpayer-funded abortions. The so-called health care reform law allows taxpayer-funded abortions. If someone votes for the law, he has, in essence, voted for taxpayer-funded abortions."

"The U.S. Supreme Court took on the case. With Justice Clarence Thomas writing the majority opinion, the court ruled today that the SBA and the Coalition have standing to bring the suit. Justice Thomas contended the groups face “a credible threat of enforcement” that chills speech."

"SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser told Life News that whether political speech is true or false “should be judged by voters, not government bureaucrats…It is beyond dispute that Obamacare contains multiple abortion-funding provisions.”

And : "David Cortman, senior counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, said, “The First Amendment forbids government from acting as a ‘truth commission’ on matters of public debate. The U.S. Supreme Court has rightfully upheld the freedom of Americans to speak in accordance with their views by allowing them to challenge laws that silence them. The Susan B. Anthony List’s warnings about abortion funding in Obamacare were objectively true. If that fact was part of what cost this congressman his job, that’s because his constituents, like most Americans, reject taxpayer-funded abortion.”

2) Georgia is leading the way with the formation of National Personhood Alliance to push for a Constitutional Amendment to protect humans in the womb from premeditated slaughter: Quote: "the National Personhood Alliance (NPA), a confederation of faith-based, pro-life organizations and leaders who believe pursuing Personhood is essential to protecting all innocent human beings in the 21st century. "

3) Bad news for all : Abortionist who lost his license in 6 states is still working in Virginia:

From :

Quote: "Virginia lawmakers approved a bill establishing abortion clinic health and safety standards, and Operation Rescue's Cheryl Sullenger says were given two years to comply."

""But two abortion clinics that are operated by Steven Chase Brigham in Virginia have asked for an exemption from complying with that law because they know that they're in violation and they won't ever be able to comply."

Operation Rescue believes both should be closed because a previous inspection revealed numerous health and drug violations."

"Sullenger says [Steven Chase Brigham} Brigham is no stranger to Operation Rescue because they've been tracking his activities for three decades. He has lost his license in six states and his remaining license in New Jersey is subject to revocation, the pro-life spokeswoman alleges."

4) More on that topic of U S Supreme Court ruling in favor of prolifers having freedom of speech:

"A national pro-life organization has gained a victory at the U.S. Supreme Court in its challenge to a state law it says restricts free speech. The justices unanimously ruled Monday (June 16) the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) had demonstrated that an Ohio prohibition on “false statement[s]” during an election campaign injured the pro-life organization. The SBA List and another organization thereby can go forward with their lawsuit, they said. The high court returned the combined case to a federal judge for a ruling in keeping with its opinion.

The SBA List ran ads during the 2010 election campaign asserting Rep. Steve Driehaus, a Democrat, voted for “taxpayer-funded abortion” when he supported the health-care reform law enacted earlier in the year. It also sought to rent billboards in his Ohio district to communicate that message. Driehaus, who described himself as pro-life, denied the measure funded abortions and filed a complaint with the Ohio Elections Commission. Before the November election, the panel found probable cause that the SBA List had violated the “false statement[s]” prohibition. The SBA List and the country’s other major pro-life organizations sharply disagreed with Driehaus, contending the new law authorized federal funding of abortion and/or federal subsidies for insurance plans that cover abortion. The Right to Life Committee and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops undergirded their positions in detailed documents."

"The case is SBA List v. Driehaus".

6) Some of most powerful words I've ever heard:

" Today is our moment, and protecting the unborn is our mission. Nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else." delivered last summer to the National Right to Life Convention in Dallas by pro-life Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott . His entire speech will bring tears to your eyes :

7) Quote: "The American Center for Law and Justice is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to weigh in on whether crisis pregnancy centers must be held to a higher disclaimer standard than abortion clinics." And: ""This is a critically important case that focuses on the constitutionally protected rights of pro-life advocates," Chief Counsel of the ACLJ. Jay Sekulow said."

8) "That’s why the National Pro-Life Alliance has been conducting a Pro-Life Candidate Survey in every state across the country asking candidates where they stand on pro-life legislation"... "The good news is that one candidate in your June 24 Primary — [N Y Republican] Claudia Tenney — has answered strongly pro-life.

She has pledged to oppose any federal funding of abortion and supports both a national Parental Notification and Intervention Act and a Life at Conception Act."

Good news: Turns out even people who oppose child murder have freedom of speech.

Bad news: That elementary proposition had to go to the Supreme Court.

10) "Pro-life PAC Susan B. Anthony (SBA) List Candidate Fund announced it was backing businessman Curt Clawson in the special election to replace former U.S. Rep. Trey Radel, R-Fla., in Congress. Clawson is the Republican nominee in the race." And: "As the next congressman representing Florida’s 19th District, Curt Clawson will proudly stand up for unborn children and their mothers,” said SBA List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser on Tuesday

11) From" with quote:

"When you take time on a regular basis to stand outside an abortion clinic to offer help to women, or simply to pray, your goal is clear: you hope that women change their minds and decide instead to choose life for their baby.

When that happens — and it certainly does happen — it’s nothing short of amazing, for a child that was scheduled to be killed will now be allowed to live, and your presence helped to make that happen."

12) How to deliver a baby if you should have too:

13) American Medical Association report and recommendations that all doctors who deliver any services via telemedicine or in a state other than where they are licensed must have a license in each state and must have a face-to-face examination of the patient before commencing prescribing by telephone, internet, or robot:
